Description
The Steripen Ultra UV water purifier is Kadayn’s flagship Steripen model. The Steripen really shines when implemented for the INDIVIDUAL in your water plan when you’re dealing with clear, moving water with what appears to be no visible sediment or contamination. With a treatment time of 48-90 seconds (depending on the volume you select) it is second to none in a head-to-head time comparison. Certified against tough protozoa (giardia and cryptosporidium), cysts, bacteria and viruses the Steripen Ultra UV is an excellent choice when you’re dealing with water from snowmelt, high mountain streams or rainwater collection. It also serves as an excellent method of insurance when you’re dealing with water that has been pre-treated or handled by a questionable source when you don’t want to run the risk of stacking treatment methods. Featuring an internal, rechargable lithium-ion battery that can be charged off of your AR-1 battery pack, other personal power source (via the included USB charging cord) OR via solar there’s no need to carry additional batteries.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Regardless of treatment method, we ALWAYS recommend that you pre-filter or strain your water before treatment. UV purification is only effective when your water is very clear. Cloudy, sediment-laden water acts as cover and concealment for microbiology - leading to diffraction and diffusion of the light - and possibly incomplete treatment. UV purification does NOT remove or inactive chemicals or heavy metals present in water. Your water treatment is your responsibility.
